 2022 Preview

The Holy Spirit Saints will field a football team for the first time this fall. They will be led by head football coach Bobby Snyder as they prepare for their initial season on the gridiron.

The Saints will be under the direction of new head football coach Bobby Snyder as they enter the 2022 season.  Coach Snyder has worked to revive the football program at Holy spirit the past couple of seasons.

The Holy Spirit Saints will play in Class 1A region five during the 2022 season. The Saints will have a difficult time competing in Class 1A with a young team in their initial season.

This season, the Saints will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region five.

The Saints open the 2022 season at home against region opponent South Lamar on Friday, August 26 at Arthur Howington Field. Last year the South Lamar Stallions finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class 1A region six. The Stallions closed out the regular season with a loss to Sulligent by a score of 43-20.

Holy Spirit and South Lamar have met a total of 6 times on the football field. The Saints have a 0-6-0 record against the Stallions. They last met in 2017 with South Lamar winning by a score of 35-17.
